Does Pageva upload my PDF to a server to convert it?
No. Conversion, OCR, compression, page editing, signing and redaction all run on your iPhone or iPad. Pageva has no server that a document could be sent to, and no account to sign into.
What is the difference between Editable Word and Exact Layout?
Editable Word rebuilds the PDF as flowing paragraphs, headings and tables you can edit freely. Exact Layout places every block where it sat on the page, so the DOCX looks like the PDF. It is the better choice for forms, brochures and anything you need to look identical.
Can Pageva convert a scanned PDF or a photo of a page?
Yes. Scanned and image-only pages go through on-device text recognition, so the words become real, selectable text in the Word document. Handwriting and very low-quality scans may need a second look after conversion.
What does the free version include?
Pageva Free converts as many documents as you like at full quality and writes the first three pages of each export. Every PDF tool is free with no page limit. Pageva Pro exports whole documents of any length and runs OCR on every page of a scan.
Is a signature added with Pageva a legal digital signature?
No. Signing draws your handwritten mark onto the page as an annotation. It does not verify identity, does not apply a certificate-backed digital signature, and does not seal the document against later editing. The app says so before you sign.
Can redacted text be recovered?
No. Pageva removes redacted content instead of covering it. A redacted page is rasterised and the marked areas are filled in, so the text is gone from the file. The trade-off is that such a page loses its selectable text, links and form fields. Pages without redactions are carried through untouched.
